This committee is comprised of parishioners who wish to share their life of faith with the parish through its spiritual development. This committee cooperates with the pastor, staff and other parish groups to help build the parish’s liturgical, devotional, spiritual and prayer life. Membership includes those parishioners who are willing to share their faith and prayer life with the community. The goals and objectives would include:
Included in the Liturgical Ministry would be various groups that serve in a devotional and spiritual dimension to the parish
These men and women help in the distribution of the Precious Body and Blood of Jesus at Mass. Some will also take Holy Communion to the sick and homebound. Training is required.
These men and women proclaim the scripture readings at Sunday Masses and other liturgical services. Training is required.
These young boys and girls minister to the community by service to the priest at Mass and other liturgical services. To be an altar server, you must have already received your First Holy Communion. Training is required.
The Traditional Adult Choir serves the parish community by providing music and song to enhance the Mass and liturgical celebrations. With the organ as their specific musical instrument, the traditional hymns are sung. Your interest in singing makes you qualified to serve in the choir. Rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings unless otherwise specified.
The Contemporary Choir is our “Folk Group.” Use of the instruments of guitar, keyboard, base guitar, flute and trumpet, more contemporary songs and hymns are played. All are welcome to join this choir as instrumentalists or singers. Practices are held on Saturday mornings.
These are volunteers who are knowledgeable of music and will lead and direct the congregation in singing at Mass and other liturgical services. Some training is required.
These are children from second to eighth grade who come together in song to enhance the celebration of the Mass. Rehearsals are held on Saturday mornings. The children’s choir sings at different masses monthly.
These men and women serve the parish as welcoming ministers and greeters at Mass and other services. They assist people in seating and directing movement around the Church. They handle the Sunday collection.
This group of volunteers reaches out to families during the loss of a loved one. They help the family in the planning of the funeral Mass. They also may serve as greeters, ministers of hospitality and companions during this difficult time. They follow up with the family for future Masses.
This group takes responsibility for the decorating of the Church for all our liturgical celebrations, the liturgical seasons of the year and other special events, especially during the Christmas and Easter seasons.
