SEASON OF LENT (2018)
Our spiritual journey of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. It starts with the signing of our foreheads
with ashes reminding us of our mortality and our need for repentance. We will journey for forty days following on the three disciplines of Lent: Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving.

Let us all reflect this Lent on the Mercy of God and be thankful by sharing that mercy with others.

ASH WEDNESDAY: Ashes will be blessed and distributed at two Masses: 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Also at two Word Services at Noon and 4:15 PM. “Repent & believe in the Gospel.”

FAST & ABSTINENCE: All Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence, that is, no meat may be eaten for all those from the age of fourteen. Ash Wednesday & Good Friday are days of Fast & Abstinence. Fasting is for those between the ages of 18-59 and means eating one regular meal and two lesser meals and no food in between. Jesus fasted for 40 days. Let us feel His sacrifice in our own little ways.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS: Come walk with Jesus on His journey to Calvary carrying the cross of our sinfulness. Each Friday starting at 7:00 PM, we will reflect on the fourteen stations of that journey and conclude each night with Benediction.

LENTEN MASS: In addition to the 8:00 A.M. daily Mass, an additional Mass is offered on Wednesday evening at 7:00 P.M. Make this that little extra we do for Jesus.

VESPERS/EVENING PRAYER: This half hour prayer service is offered every Sunday at 5:00 P.M. Come sing and pray the psalms and reflect on Sacred Scripture.

CONFESSIONS/RECONCILIATION: Every Monday evening during lent (except Holy week), ”The Light is on for you.” Confessions will be heard from 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. This is in addition to the regular Saturday afternoon from 4:00 to 4:45 P.M. Take advantage of these times to be reconciled with the Lord. Feel His peace through forgiveness of your sins.
